Whether you have an appointment or not, be prepared to wait for hours in the waiting room. Ridiculous.
The primary care physician that I was given left the practice. I didn't find out until I had to go in for a doctor's appointment. The receptionist in Orangeburg practice explained to me I would have to travel all the way to Bamberg to be seen by a new primary care physician. The new physician that took me on as a patient was wonderful and very professional. I can't say the same for the receptionist that was there Friday and today. I was informed by my primary care physician to come back on Monday. I agree and also confirmed the time to come by on Monday. I had to push things around to make it on Monday. I arrived at little after 11 and I was greeted with excuses. I was beyond heated with the unprofessional situation. I was told to make another trip later on in the day. At the time the receptionist gave me a time that was unrealistic for my time schedule. I started back to the practice after I picked up my daughter. I got half way there had my husband confirm that everything was good to go. At that point the main physician decided that he wouldn't be coming in. Yes I was mad and I voiced my displeasure for the situation. I asked if there was another physician in Orangeburg branch that could help me and also wouldn't have to come back out that way. I was told I had to wait two more days and would have to come back to Bamberg. I had to reschedule my husband appioment for the tbi rehabilitation tharpy at the va to just to be able to come to Bamberg just to be told to come back at the time I needed to be in line to pick up my daughter. I wasted time and a appioment my disabled husband need to go to just to be run around. Now I will have to be on stand by on Wednesday and stop another day to wait on the main physician to show up. Not everyone has time to waste to come all the way there and have to deal with this mess. I will be turning this situation into tricare tomorrow. I'm beyond frustrated and disgusted with the Bamberg practice. A simple call this morning letting me know that the doctor called out would of be helpful and greatly appreciated.
The wait is a bit longer than average. However they are amazing about trying to help you get better and get to the root of the problem rather than just manage the symptoms. I absolutely love them!
